REVIEW – Trader Joe’s Korean Beefless Bulgogi

I must admit, I’m usually not a big fan of those incredibly meat-like, plant-based alternatives, like Beyond or Impossible burgers and sausages. But, there’s always an exception to every rule, and these Trader Joe’s Korean Beefless Bulgogi strips are definitely it for me. They’re seriously delicious, and might just convince a carnivore that they’ve stumbled upon the holy grail of vegan deliciousness.

Don’t get me wrong, Impossible burgers are seriously amazing, and they have their place. They taste and sizzle just like the real deal, so if you’re transitioning to a plant-based diet or just miss sinking your teeth into a burger, definitely give them a try. But personally, I don’t really crave meat that often. Although, I have admit, I do enjoy indulging in these juicy, mouthwatering bits of beefless steak tips every now and then.

The steak-less tips are tender, chewy, and juicy, with a lightly smoky taste. They are fabulous seared to perfection, and I’m telling you, if you served these to a meat lover, they wouldn’t even suspect they’re vegan. They’re lightly marinated and can hold their own in terms of taste, but they’re like chameleons, soaking up any delicious flavor you introduce them to. So go ahead, get creative with your seasonings and marinades!

We often enjoy them served on a bed of flavorful kimchi fried rice, with some edamame, and tender microgreens (check out the first photo!). We have also used them to whip up a mean Philly Cheese Steak with some smoky Violife Gouda, and they are perfection tossed in tacos or fajitas for a flavor explosion.

You can find these Korean Beefless Bulgogi steak tips in Trader Joe’s frozen section for $4.49.

I had read this was the worst Korean product Trader’s sells, but I absolutely loved it and will continue to buy it. I made a bowl similar ro yours and also like the Philly idea.

    1. I am surprised to hear that. This is one of the few vegan “meats” that I actually enjoy…but to each their own. I’m happy to hear that you also liked it, though!
