Frozen Mango Lassi

This super refreshing and healthy Frozen Mango Lassi is lusciously thick and creamy. You only need some mangoes, dairy-free yogurt, dairy-free milk, a touch of cardamom, and maybe a little maple syrup if you have a sweet tooth. It’s the perfect drink to enjoy during those hot summer days!

Traditional lassi originated from Punjab region of India, and is a blend of yogurt, water or milk, spices, and can be either sweet or salty.

recipe tips:

Instead of throwing ice into the lassi to make it all chilly and thick, I either use some frozen mango chunks or slice up some fresh mangoes and freeze them. That way, the lassi becomes all smooth and creamy, without any of those pesky ice crystals. And, bonus, it doesn’t get all watery either. I always use frozen fruit whenever I whip up any type of smoothie too!

I almost always use flax milk when I make this, or any smoothie. This way we get all the benefits of flax without altering the taste or texture of the lassi. The brand I like is Good Karma Unsweetened Flax Milk.

I usually don’t add any sweetener to the lassi since we love the sweet and slightly tart flavor of mangoes. However, it all depends on how ripe your mangoes are and how sweet you want the lassi to taste. If you want it sweeter, you can add a touch of maple syrup or sugar to sweeten it to your liking.

Enjoy!
